Trier, Germany | A church, some crepes and a ton of great history to see

I have been chomping at the bit to take a trip or plan a trip or basically just do something. So every week I sit at the computer for hours looking for a new adventure. Shawn and I ask everyone where they have been, what’s great to see, and what’s their favorite locations we have to go to before we leave. A few times we have heard them say “go to Trier”, so we did just that this past weekend. I have to say we could have spent so much more time there. I LOVED it!!! There is so much to see, explore and of course photograph.

Along with the great sights was of course the food…well the crepes to be exact. Now Im not really a fan of German cuisine so far and I seem to be eating Italian mostly. Yes, Italian food here in germany if GREAT!!! Every corner you go around is another Italian restaurant with authentic food. But the crepes in Trier where so yummy, we all enjoyed every bite.

My family was so sick of me stopping every minute to take a photo, so I was speed shooting to not miss a thing. We are planning another trip to finish seeing all the history Trier has to offer.

The fabulous doors of the many churches along the streets. I have a serious LOVE for some doors:)

Porta Nigra (The Black Gate) is a large Roman city gate. This structure is a beautiful work of art in the heart of the city.

St.Peters Catholic Church, this was the largest church I have ever been in before.

We made it in the church just in time to light a candle for my mom…she would have loved to see this breathtaking church.

My kids are crazy!!!

I can’t wait for you to see the Notre Dame church in Paris. I literally teared up. Favorite church ever.
